Not that I ever need an excuse to go to Target but the new Prabal Gurung Collection is a pretty good reason to visit my favorite one stop shop.  Famed designer, Prabal Gurung, has created a gorgeous spring line, Love, currently available at most target stores around the country.  Shown are my favorites from the lookbook which is available for viewing in its entirety here.  I love how each piece is so feminine....the floral prints and the vibrant colors are so perfect for spring and summer... Love is a need to own collection that , luckily, is very affordable.  Way to go Target, Prabal Gurung, and all the people who made this stunning collection accessible to everyone!

Most Wanted Trends Spring 2013: Peplum

John Richmond RTW Spring 2013

John Richmond RTW Spring 2013

Akris Spring 2013

Rachel Comey RTW Fall 2013

I am obsessed with the peplum trend and I was so excited to still see it on the runway.  It is so flattering on a woman's body...especially for women with pear shape or boy shape bodies, it gives the illusion of a waist...for curvy girls it extenuates the waist and flatters curves even more.  Now that the peplum style has been a trend on the runway for a few seasons the availability and variety is really great.  Below are some of my favorite peplum choices for everyday wearability.

Spring Trend: ID Plated Necklaces and Bracelets

While shopping at a lovely boutique jewelry shop, Domaine Designs, a military-esque inspired jewelry trend was brought to my attention.  I was chatting with the shop owner as she unpacked a big box of cool vintage ID bracelets and they really caught my eye.  She said that the ID bracelets/necklaces are going to be a big jewelry trend in the upcoming season.  I told her about my blog and she was nice enough to give us a couple bracelets in silver and gold for free.  Since then I have been seeing the ID plate style popping up on all my favorite fashion sites. Below are some great shops to get your ID bracelet or necklace and be apart of this trend.

Beauty Inspiration Seen At The 2013 Oscars

These are my favorite hair and makeup looks from the red carpet of this years Oscars, where, old Hollywood glamour showed to be the standout beauty theme.  The trend of the night was definitely luminous completions and side-parted romantic waves.

____

Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain really knows how to pull off old Hollywood glamour.  The perfectly placed waves, her beautifully porcelain skin, liquid lined eyes, and the bold red lip created a brilliantly classic look.

Reese Witherspoon

With the perfect amount of volume and bombshell curls Reese Witherspoon had the best hair of the night!  What was even more impressive about her side-swept waves was that they stayed perfectly polished through the night.  Her makeup was beautifully simple with peachy pale lips and blue eye-shadow to compliment her eyes.

Zoe Saldana

I especially loved Zoe Saldana's makeup. The brown smokey eyes and nude lip blended perfectly with her flawless completion.  Her hair was on trend with soft curls and a side part.  I liked that she placed her hair behind the ears which created a more modern look and showed off her gorgeous face.

In The Raw

___

As a part of completing my degree for interior design it was required to construct a year long thesis project.  One of the first steps was to think of  personal interests and passions and how you can relate them to interior design.  During that time I was extremely conscious of my health....and now after travel and experiencing different ways cultures prepare and eat food I have become even more passionate about what kinds of food I put in my body.  For my thesis /seen here/ I decided to design a three story Raw Food restaurant located in Harvard Square in Cambridge (Boston) Massachusetts.  While I already had some interest in Raw Food my eyes were opened even wider while researching and collecting information for my pre-thesis.  The main idea behind eating raw is that once a raw plant food is heated above 104 degrees F it looses most of its nutritional value.  So raw foods have higher nutrient values than foods that have been cooked.  It can be challenging to live a fully vegan raw food lifestyle....which for the record I do not...I do love juicing, blending, and creating beautiful dishes using raw food recipes (some listed below).  The best way to start incorporating raw food consumption into your life is by juicing or blending (using a food processor)...you will see/feel a huge difference. Below are some creations I love....
